旧川崎銀行横浜支店
設計者の矢部又吉は横浜生まれでドイツに学んだ建築家で、隣の旧横浜正金銀行本店の設計者妻木頼黄の弟子。
ファサード2面を残して機能更新を図った今の建物は、歴史的建造物の保存・再生の一手法を示した先駆的作品である。

FORMER KAWASAKI BANK YOKOHAMA BRANCH OFFICE
The architect, Matakichi Yabe, was born in Yokohama and studied in Germany. He was a student of the architect Yorinaka Tsumaki, who designed the former Yokohama Specie Bank head office, on the opposite side. The current structure was designed to renew the functionality of the original structure, but retains the original façade on two sides. It represents a forward-thinking way to preserve and renew historic structures.
